Welcome to The Sunshine Social Club
We are an organization dedicated to supporting young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Prior Lake and our surrounding communities. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we aim to fill the gap that often exists in these individuals’ lives after structured support services come to an end. Our mission is to help them discover new opportunities for personal growth and social connection. We understand the daily challenges these young adults face, and our goal is to provide the essential support and resources they need to thrive in adulthood.
Our Community:
Located in Prior Lake, The Sunshine Social Club is a friendly, caring community for adults (18+) with intellectual and developmental disabilities who have aged out of—or chosen not to participate in—traditional structured support services. We believe every adult deserves a place where they feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive. Our mission is to help each individual to continue to grow in confidence, independence, and connection through meaningful experiences—both in the community and at our welcoming activity center. Through social activities, hands-on learning, and volunteer opportunities, participants build everyday skills, explore new interests, and discover their unique strengths—all while making friends and having fun. Whether it’s diving into new interests, picking up fun hobbies, or giving back through community service, The Sunshine Social Club is here to support each step of the journey.
Our mission is to help young adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities be recognized as important and valued members of our community while enriching their lives through friendships, social connections, and learning opportunities.
